Cap for FY 2019 H-1B Visas Has Been Reached

|

FY 2019's 65,000 cap for H-1B visas has been reached, says the USCIS. Furthermore, the agency has also met the 20,000 master's cap (U.S. advanced degree exemption).

USCIS will continue to accept and process petitions filed to do any of the following:

  • Current H-1B workers who change employers
  • Current H-1B workers who work concurrently in a second H-1B position
  • Current H-1B workers who change the employment terms
  • Extend the amount of time a current H-1B worker may stay in the U.S.

The H-1B visa program is popular among U.S. businesses in order to employ foreign workers in occupations that require specialized knowledge.
